    Join us for an immersive tour and introduction to "The Mill: Voices, Sounds, and Textiles from BC's Forestry Industry," a new exhibit by artist Russell Gendron.

    This multimedia project explores British Columbia's forestry industry through sound art and quilting, capturing the experiences of workers on Sḵwx̱wú7mesh territory and beyond. Visitors will experience an evocative environmental soundscape, music created from machine noises, and voices sharing stories of daily tasks, industry closures, and more.

    Also featured are memory quilts that honor the workers, communities, and landscapes impacted by forestry.

    Gendron will introduce his work, followed by a Q&A session.

    Born in Vancouver and former sawmill worker, Gendron now lives in Montreal.

    The Cory Weeds Quartet

    Join Cory Weeds and his quartet for the launch of a new jazz series at The Brackendale Art Gallery. They’ll honor the legendary Canadian saxophonist Fraser MacPherson by performing some of his favorite tunes. This past April, Weeds' Cellar Music Group released "Fraser MacPherson: I Don't Have To Go Anywhere, I'm Already Here" by Guy MacPherson, Fraser’s son. The book offers an intimate portrait of MacPherson and explores Vancouver's golden age of nightlife, when musicians could thrive locally.

    ₿ Bitcoin - Joep explored Bitcoin’s roots and its impact on society. In this talk, he’ll attempt to offer a balanced take on whether a Bitcoin-dominated world is one he’d welcome or not.
