Squamish Arts’ Youth at Art program looks to engage youth with arts & culture

The Youth at Art program has three areas of focus:
  • 1

Through the Youth Scholarship and new programs, Squamish Arts looks to enhance access to arts and cultural opportunities.

  • 2

Providing opportunities for development, collaboration and mentorship through programs like Amped in the Park.

  • 3

Working with local partners to create opportunities for youth to participate and engage in arts and culture.

Youth Programs

Youth At Art Camps

Squamish Arts coordinates a variety of programs that aim to provide access to and engagement in arts and culture. This has resulted in the installation of six youth created pieces of public art since 2014, skills development in film production, the creation of youth bands, and passing on of artistic knowledge and heritage with Sḵwx̱wú7mesh.

We’re proud to have partnered with Recreation Services, BC Arts Council, the Province of BCSquamish Nation, Climb and Conquer, RBC Canada, the Public Art Committee, and the Squamish Home Depot to have offered these programs to hundreds of youth.

Our Partners

Squamish Arts acknowledges that the land on which we live, work and recreate is the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, particularly the territories of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation. It is our responsibility to honour their ancestry by being an ally to the present.
