The Squamish Public Library is inviting local artists to submit designs for library-branded tote bags. We aim to feature local art on a limited run of totes, showcasing our community’s talent and supporting the local arts scene.

Please carefully read the full Call for Artists. Budget for artwork: $500

Important Dates:
-Submission Deadline: August 16, 2024, at 5:00 PM
-Artist Announcement: Week of August 19, 2024
-Production: End of August/September 2024

Submission Requirements:
-Brief summary about yourself
-Brief summary about your proposed work
-Images of proposed art or design
-Up to 3 images of previous work
-One submission per artist.

Come join us at the Brackendale Art Gallery for a fun-filled night of music and games. Get ready to test your music knowledge and win exciting prizes while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the BAG.

Our Music Bingo is the perfect way to spend an evening with friends, family, or even make new connections with fellow music enthusiasts. Whether you're a music buff or just looking for a good time, this event is for everyone!

As always, our kitchen and bar will be open throughout the event!

In this traditional competition, artists must compose, paint, complete and frame (or finish) a piece of art outdoors “en plein air.”

Works will be judged and fabulous prizes donated by Opus Art Supplies will be awarded. Participants may exhibit and sell their art created during the competition from 4 to 7 p.m. on the day of the challenge.

This meetup will be a conversation about how cities can foster biodiversity in open spaces, led by salmon biologist and urban planning enthusiast Auston Chhor.

Using various spaces around Downtown Squamish as a backdrop, we'll discuss how changes to land use policies and community-led restoration efforts can help blur the line between urban and natural areas.
