Join us for an immersive tour and introduction to "The Mill: Voices, Sounds, and Textiles from BC's Forestry Industry," a new exhibit by artist Russell Gendron.
This multimedia project explores British Columbia's forestry industry through sound art and quilting, capturing the experiences of workers on Sḵwx̱wú7mesh territory and beyond. Visitors will experience an evocative environmental soundscape, music created from machine noises, and voices sharing stories of daily tasks, industry closures, and more.
Also featured are memory quilts that honor the workers, communities, and landscapes impacted by forestry.
Gendron will introduce his work, followed by a Q&A session.
Born in Vancouver and former sawmill worker, Gendron now lives in Montreal.

Vocalist John Kairis channels both Bon Scott’s charisma and Brian Johnson’s power, while lead guitarist Colin Wielenga electrifies as Angus Young. Join Cory Weeds and his quartet for the launch of a new jazz series at The Brackendale Art Gallery. They’ll honor the legendary Canadian saxophonist Fraser MacPherson by performing some of his favorite tunes. This past April, Weeds' Cellar Music Group released "Fraser MacPherson: I Don't Have To Go Anywhere, I'm Already Here" by Guy MacPherson, Fraser’s son. The book offers an intimate portrait of MacPherson and explores Vancouver's golden age of nightlife, when musicians could thrive locally.

?ADHD - Bri, a special education teacher, will talk all about ADHD.
₿ Bitcoin - Joep explored Bitcoin’s roots and its impact on society. In this talk, he’ll attempt to offer a balanced take on whether a Bitcoin-dominated world is one he’d welcome or not.

Over the past two decades, Steve Dawson has become a key figure in the Canadian music scene, blending natural talent with immense dedication. Whether captivating audiences with his dynamic live performances or producing standout work in the studio, Dawson constantly pushes his craft to new heights.
Originally from Vancouver and now based in Nashville, Steve excels as a solo artist, sideman, and producer. This show, presented by The Brackendale Art Gallery Society with support from The Vancouver Community Foundation, promises an engaging experience. From the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada, Jocelyn Pettit is a vibrant fiddle player, stepdancer, singer, and composer. As a multicultural artist, with Scottish, Irish, French and Malaysian heritage, Jocelyn integrates the Celtic and folk traditions of her roots into her shows and compositions
AHRF is a raw independent alternative rock band from Squamish, BC. They pull inspiration from 2000s alternative rock and a variety of Canadian punk bands. AHRF’s lyrics are poignant, sarcastic, and self deprecating focused on a feeling or problem the narrator is struggling with. Muscular choruses, blistering guitars, and an intense rhythm section are all part the AHRF sound. AHRF writes, records, produces, mixes, and performs all their own music.
