For as long as Charlotte can remember she has had a passion for all things creative and has explored many arts and crafting techniques over the years.
After studying textiles print design at Brighton University, she developed a strong interest in bold graphic image, repeat pattern and shape work. She is particularly interested in achieving graphic images by hand, rather than by using computer. For Charlotte the process is almost as important as the result and she loves to see the handmade details in artwork – that is what makes it one of a kind, details like that can’t be recreated.
Hand cut stencils are an integral part of Charlotte’s technique and she is intrigued & inspired by colour combinations; she loves to discover new combos that make her smile! She is inspired by the beautiful natural landscape, but loves to zero in on details she sees particularly in plants & water. Charlotte’s main artistic inspirations include Japanese screen printing, natural patterns, and artists such a William Morris & Kerry Langlois.
Charlotte would love it if her art inspired others to get creative and believed the benefits of “the arts” in all their forms are immeasurable.
