Linda Wagner was born in Sidney BC and grew up in the Comox Valley. After a career in nursing she attended Capalino College’s art program in 1970 to 1972. Linda has been painting in watercolours and oils in BC for the past 40 years.
She has participated in solo and group shows in numerous galleries in BC and Alberta. Wagner has travelled to painting seminars in Mexico, China, Italy, France, Greece, and Israel. Her work is exhibited in public and private collections across
Canada. Her recent paintings are reminiscent of the Canadian Group of Seven. As an avid mariner she works from sketches and memories collected during annual sailing trips in BC’s costal waters. She concentrates on colour gradations, strong contrasts, bright colours, and reflected light.
She says at 81 years ” I will paint as long as I am able and still have the passion for it. I have always enjoyed the journey.”
