Hope attended the Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto, Ontario, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She is now based in Squamish.
Hope’s artistic journey is deeply intertwined with her personal challenges and revelations. Born in Korea, she faced the challenges of her family’s immigration to Canada at a young age, further complicated by living with an autoimmune disease.
Her experiences with illness propelled her to seek answers beyond conventional medicine, embarking on a quest to understand the intricacies of the human psyche.
Drawing from her own journey of self-discovery, Hope’s work explores the depths of the subconscious mind, seeking to unravel the mysteries of the human experience. In her creative expressions, she distills curiosity by inviting viewers to contemplate the connection between the subconscious world and the material world.
Through her work, she seeks to inspire introspection, foster empathy, and cultivate a sense of shared humanity. Her journey from adversity to empowerment serves as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and a reminder that healing can be found in the most unexpected places.
