Join Kelsea Rae Ceramics at Smoke Bluffs Coffee House for a cozy evening of pottery carving. Carving is one of the most creative and fleeting stages of pottery, a step that happens between throwing and glazing, and one that you don’t often get to practice yourself.
Each participant will receive a wheel-thrown tumbler, handmade by yours truly, ready to be transformed with your own design. I’ll guide you through hand-carving techniques including sgraffito (carving through a colored underglaze to reveal the clay beneath) and misima (carving lines and inlaying them with contrasting underglaze).

Inspired by Einstein’s Dreams by Alan Lightman, TEMPUS is a collaboration between the Sea to Sky Dance Collective and composer Michael K. Hewitt, director of Create-Able Arts Society. Blending original music and contemporary dance, the production explores imagined worlds where time shifts, loops, races, or stands still—revealing emotional truths about how we live, connect, and make meaning. TEMPUS invites audiences on a powerful journey through sound and motion. Proceeds support the Sea to Sky Hospice Society, whose work honours time in its most profound form by supporting individuals and families through life’s final transitions with dignity, compassion, and care.
