Start your woodworking journey at Create Makerspace!
Participants will make a traditional indigenous bent wood box with guidance from woodworker Matthew Williams, our guest from Squamish Nation. Other projects include making a birdhouse using our laser cutter and other small creative projects designed to orientate and introduce woodworking skills.
The camp will be led by Jason Bigelow, who is motivated by giving the next generation the practical skills inspiration they need to thrive. He’s particularly passionate about supporting 2SLGBTQ+ youth and those at risk.
Class is limited to 8 students as we have two instructors teaching this week. There are no pre-requisites, but your kid should be able to follow safety instructions, and be careful with sharp objects.
