Coast Mountain Folk – Trad Session on the 2nd Floor Patio
Join Jocelyn Pettit with instructors and participants from the 2025 Fiddle & Cello Retreat, for a traditional music session from 6pm-8pm on Sunday July 6th upstairs on the patio at The Brackendale Art Gallery. Instruments welcome for participation. This is a free community event – come out to listen and enjoy some lively traditional music!
Please note – there is a flight of stairs, if you have mobility issues. Unfortunately, the BAG does not have an elevator to the 2nd floor.
Session: A custom established centuries ago, of musicians casually gathering to play traditional music of Ireland, Scotland, and beyond. Many sessions include other music styles, such as Cape Breton, Québécois, Scandinavian and/or old-time tunes.
From the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada, Jocelyn Pettit is a vibrant fiddle player, stepdancer, singer, and composer. As a multicultural artist, with Scottish, Irish, French and Malaysian heritage, Jocelyn integrates the Celtic and folk traditions of her roots into her shows and compositions. With uplifting energy and engaging stage presence, she presents a lively and joyful performance of traditional, contemporary, and original music.
