Living in Squamish surrounded by all that nature can provide Rebecca Santry took a friends advice of “find more blue in your life” to heart and re-ignited her passion for art & the outdoors utilizing what nature had to offer with the medium of Cyanotype.
During her earlier years, studying Art at Loughborough University, composition was always a keen interest and strength in her visual communication, and she found a great sense of fulfilment in the hands-on approach. The alternative technique of Cyanotype afforded Rebecca the opportunity to immerse herself back into this. Designing new layouts in her sketchbook, shifting and placing various layers across a blank canvas and combining them with found and foraged forms. Building fractal patterns and emotive imagery, merging them with geometric shapes and translating them to raw prints. The possibilities were endless. Art became Rebecca’s therapy, a place to escape, play and challenge herself. She wanted to create artwork that reflected her passion for all of this.
