Inspired by Einstein’s Dreams by Alan Lightman, TEMPUS is a collaboration between the Sea to Sky Dance Collective and composer Michael K. Hewitt, director of Create-Able Arts Society. Blending original music and contemporary dance, the production explores imagined worlds where time shifts, loops, races, or stands still—revealing emotional truths about how we live, connect, and make meaning. TEMPUS invites audiences on a powerful journey through sound and motion. Proceeds support the Sea to Sky Hospice Society, whose work honours time in its most profound form by supporting individuals and families through life’s final transitions with dignity, compassion, and care.

Locarno is the Latin project of JUNO Award winning musician, Tom Landa, one of the founding member of The Paperboys. Like him, the music is equal parts Mexican and Canadian. Tom was born and raised in Mexico City, and moved to Canada in his teens. In 2006, he was awarded a Canada Council Grant to study traditional Mexican Music in Veracruz, Mexico. Tom spent his days learning the jarana (an 8 string guitar).

Join Angela Muellers and Paul Chizik for a landscape plein air workshop at Alice Lake. All levels welcome. Paul will demo in oils, acrylic painters are welcome. The course will examine the painting process using composition, value, and color design. Plein painters must understand these steps, so that they can quickly create a design and begin painting. Join us for a special cultural workshop led by Tsawaysia Spukwus, a respected Squamish Nation educator and artist. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn to weave a traditional wool headband, using simple techniques and soft, colourful yarn.
Tsawaysia will guide you through traditional techniques and the cultural teachings woven into each piece. You’ll leave with your own handcrafted wool headband, your own loom for future projects, and a deeper appreciation for the stories, values, and knowledge shared through Squamish weaving traditions.Join us for a special cultural workshop led by Tsawaysia Spukwus, a respected Squamish Nation educator and artist. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn to weave a traditional wool headband, using simple techniques and soft, colourful yarn.
Create your very own straight bladed carving knife under the expert guidance of Squamish Nation carver and tool maker Matthew Cole. Participants will make and hone the blade in the metal shop from steel. Next comes the handle, which you will make from yellow cedar. The final step is to assemble the two components together and put the finishing touches on your bespoke carving knife. This tool is the foundation of any wood carvers tool box and will be a treasured possession that can be passed down through generations. Matthew is a Capilano-based artist and blade smith known for his traditional carvings, native drawings, and other artworks, including paddles and masks.
