(2 hours / session)

Join us for a workshop exploring the combination of found poetry and visual art.

Do you want to write poetry but are having trouble knowing where to start? This workshop will help participants find the words together! We’ll start by ripping apart old books to find the poetry hidden within the pages (don’t worry, these are discarded books ready for their next adventure!). Once you’ve chosen your pages, that’s when creativity begins. Mark words on the page to create your own poem, while covering or “blacking out” the remaining words. You can use markers, pen, collage materials, ink, whatever calls to you. The words that remain make up the finished piece. All materials provided! Feel free to bring your own books, magazines, photos/images, stickers, markers etc. to incorporate into your piece. No previous experience required.
