Monika Loevenmark

Monika Loevenmark is a watercolour painter with a specific interest (obsession) in birds and an affinity for making paintings of mountains from the tops of other mountains. Having worked primarily in oil and acrylic paint, she now focuses her attention on watercolour paints because they pack up well in a backpack.

With a degree in fine art (painting) and another degree in architecture, Monika has spent the last several years working in the architectural realm and in land management with regional government. Painting is something she does after work to relax when she’s not running, climbing, skiing, climbing mountains, or volunteering with Squamish Search and Rescue.

Her favourite bird is the Dark-Eyed Junco. (Or maybe the Northern Flicker because they’re so well-dressed.)
