Marina grew up on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations in what is now called Vancouver. Raised in a Japanese and Scottish family, she spent much of her upbringing among the B.C mountains. Her work primarily focuses on natural life and explores the communication between movement, colour, and light as well as the human subject. Through painting, printmaking and pyrography, she aims to bridge these connections and provoke curiosity. She has completed her Fine Arts Diploma at Langara College and plans to complete her BFA at Emily Carr University.
