A South African born artist who lives on the unceded territories of the sḵwx̱wú7mesh, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm & sel̓íl̓witulh uxwumixws. Amy studied art and design at Capilano University, and completed her Studio Art diploma before graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Alberta College of Art and Design, with a focus on printmaking. Her work explores history, industry and the evolution of a geographical location through time. Amy’s work has explored construction, mining and farming, forestry and shipbuilding. Her work is illustrative in style and employs literary elements, humour and humanity. Her work is often linked to storytelling through the research element of the ideation, and often connects this through the artist statements and titles, which are an integral part of the piece.
