This event provides a platform for the talented youth of the community to showcase their artistic creations and share their unique perspectives with the public. \nThe exhibition promises to be a captivating journey into the minds of local youth\, featuring artworks of diverse styles\, sizes\, dimensions\, and materials. From paintings to sculptures and photographs to mixed media installations\, visitors can expect to encounter a rich tapestry of creativity that reflects the vibrancy and diversity of West Vancouver’s emerging artistic talent. \nThe District of West Vancouver gratefully acknowledges sponsorship from SD 45 and Collingwood School.

He has been a professional illustrator\, fine artist and art educator for many years. He has created designs for the Royal Canadian Mint\, featuring notable Chinese Zodiac coin series and awarded for children’s book illustrations. Harvey also taught at many art and design institutions in Toronto including his alma mater\, Ontario College of Art ( Now OCADU ). In 2011\, he returned to Hong Kong\, establishing Art For Life Studio. Since moving to Vancouver in 2021\, Harvey has been focusing on his personal works and exhibitions. Harvey also has established himself as a popular teacher of figurative drawing and painting at different art schools and online workshops in Vancouver.

SUMMARY:Intro to Kumiko Woodworking
DESCRIPTION:Join Rob LeBlanc to make your first wooden Kumiko panel over three sessions. Kumiko is a traditional Japanese woodworking method that creates delicate and artistic panels without the use of nails. Using hand-tools and precision\, students will learn how to measure and cut angles to assemble an “asanoha” or “hemp leaf” panel. Panels can be used in other woodworking projects as decorative door fronts\, or as hanging art pieces. \nThis course runs for three consecutive Wednesday evenings starting at 6pm June 19th. \nThis course is open to everyone\, as there are no pre-requisite skills. (18+ due to our insurance\, thank you!)
